Worry is a normal feeling to have but it’s a feeling that many people don’t want. Turning this worry into something positive can help you feel better when it comes to your mental health and wellbeing.

Worry is something that you can act on and you can use this worry to fuel the fight in you. Especially when it comes to things such as fighting the climate crisis.

How to turn worry into something positive?

📷 Identify the worry If you are able to know what you are worrying about, then you are able to do something about it.

Let’s say you are worried about the climate crisis. You can also apply this to any other situation that you are worried about.

🐾 You can start off by questioning the situation!

Ask yourself these questions;

  • Why are you worrying about the climate crisis?
  • Who is causing you to worry about the situation (Is it yourself, the news, other people etc) and why?
  • Do you want to do something about the situation?

These questions are here to give you guidance and are here to help make a start on turning your worries into something positive.

🎉 Think about how to make changes Once you get an idea of what the worry is all about, you can start to think of ideas of how to overcome that worry.

You can brainstorm the possible options that you want to do to help the climate crisis. Whether it’s educating yourself or starting to buy from environmentally friendly stores.

Whatever you decide to do, it’s up to you and you only! You can get outside support, such as talking to family, friends, teachers and even a therapist to help but the final decision is up to you.

⚽️ Be comfortable with your decisions – Since you are going to be the one to make the changes necessary, be able to find confidence in your decisions. If you feel uncomfortable in any one of your decisions, then maybe start to think about changing what you do again.

It’s important to be comfortable in your decisions as you’ll be the one to have to deal with them. However, it’s ok to have trial and error periods so that you know what’s right for you!

Overall, worry is a normal process. Worrying shows that you care about something and that something is important to you. Even if you are worrying about something that is a negative in your life. If you need more support in going through your worries, please speak to someone who you trust.
