Make sure to only pack the essentials
🥾Clothes – Take an outfit for each day, as well as an extra pair of each clothing item just in case all of your other clothes get wet.
For example, if you are going for 3 days walking and 2 nights camping, take four pairs of t-shirts, bottoms (e.g. leggings etc), socks, underwear and so on.
Tip – When it comes to sleeping, change from the clothes you were wearing in the day to the clothes you are wearing the next day.
Why? – This is because if you sleep in the clothes you were wearing the day before, because of the sweat that builds up, you’ll become colder at night. Whereas, if you change, you are looking at a much better sleep. As well as this, it means that you have one less task to do within the morning if you are already wearing the clothes for the day.
🧀 Food- Make sure that the food you take is high in calories as it is recommended to eat around 2,000 – 3,000 calories per day.
Tip – Take food that comes in compacted packaging. For example, porridge, cereal bars, quick cook pasta and rice, wayfayrer meals and so on.
Why? – This means that it allows you to be able to have enough food for your trip but also allows you to fit it in your bag.
🎒Packing – When you are packing your Dofe bag, make sure that the heaviest equipments go at the bottom of the bag,
For example, put the transga and tent at the bottom, as first, they are heavy and second, they aren’t essential until you get to the campsite.
Tip – You want to have the equipment you need for walking, e.g. food, at the tops as it means that it is easy access.
🚶🏻♀️Walking – Make sure that you take enough breaks as well as eat a lot whilst walking as this will motivate you more. Walk at the speed that you want and can.
Tip – Use blister plasters before they become blisters.
