Art

Calling all creatives aged 10-25 who live in Cardiff and The Vale!

Art is an exciting new creative opportunity from the Power Up project!  We are inviting young people across the region to submit artwork that aims to answer the question

‘What are your hopes for the future of young people’s mental health in Wales?’

We want to give you as much creative freedom to tell your story as possible, so will accept the following types of art:

  • Drawings
  • Paintings
  • Ceramics
  • Sculpture
  • Video
  • Poetry
  • Short stories (max.500 words)
  • Installations

Here is what is on offer to entrants!

  • All submitted pieces of art will be featured at our end of year festival in June.
  • All pieces of art will be included in an anthology that will be printed to celebrate the competition.
  • Voucher prizes available for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place (£100, £75, £50 respectively), as well as wellbeing bundles.

We want to hear from as many young people across Cardiff and The Vale as possible, and entries will be judged on their ability to answer the prompt question, their creativity, and their originality.  While creative talent and technical ability is certainly welcome, entries will not be judged solely on this.

Our judging panel of artists and writers will be announced soon!

Submitting Your Artwork

All artworks should be submitted by 23:59 on 7/5/23, and they should be emailed to powerup@platfform.org with the title of your piece in the subject line.  See below for the guidelines for each form of art.  Please note we will also accept WeTransfer files should the file be large.

After submitting your work, please complete this form so that we are able to contact you once the competition deadline closes.
