St David’s is the patron saint of Wales which is celebrated today (1st March). To celebrate, the welsh people would wear either a daffodil or a leek and sometimes even both. As well as this, concerts and parades are held.   

Fun Fact – St David was a vegetarian.

Why do we celebrate St David?

St David is remembered for being a national patron saint at the height of welsh battle to the Normans. He helped spread the word about Christianity and on his journey founded 12 mountains. Also known for performing miracles. For example, when he was speaking to a crowd and the people couldn’t see him, he made the platform he was standing on rise.    

Fun Fact – One of the most famous phrases of St David is “Be joyful, keep the faith and do the little things that you have heard and seen me do.”
