Wild at Heart is about a family who migrated to South Africa where they tackle a project where they renovate a game reserve for wild animals which includes a vet surgery and animal hospital.
As I am an animal lover, I really enjoyed watching Wild at Heart as the show revolved around wild animals. I first watched the show when I was younger and now over the past couple of weeks I have decided to rewatch the show.
I’ve always wanted to go to South Africa and see the wild animals so this show has amplified that desire to go. It showed me what animals I wanted to see and where I wanted to go.
Since I do photography and have an interest in film and television, I would love to document my experience of going to South Africa. The animals I would like to see are big cats as they are my favourite wild animals. As well as, elephants, giraffes and many other animals.
Wild at Heart Behind the Scenes
Stephen Tompkinson & Deon Stewardson Interview
I liked how the show uses wild animals themselves but has trained people there to make sure that the animals are kept safe. This means that the show becomes more real as it shows the reality of living in an area where there are wild animals.
As big cats are my favourite wild animals, I love the episodes that involved big cats as for me they were the most entertaining. However, I still really liked the other episodes as well.
Animals can have a positive effect on people’s mental health. They can reduce stress levels, can help establish healthy habits, help battle loneliness, depression, anxiety and so many more.

Overall, Wild at Heart is a show that I would recommend as the character developments are amazing and the storylines are emotional, entertaining and you watch the show feeling fulfilled.
