Ramadan is a month in the Islamic calendar.  In this month Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset, at the moment that is from about 3.40 am and we fast until 8.50 pm.  Ramadan is not just about not eating and drinking, we should avoid getting angry, talking about people and bad speech. It is a very spiritual time and we should take this time to get closer to God and avoid sins.

Eid (Thursday 13th May) is a day of celebration when Muslims have  completed either 29 or 30 days of fasting. We have a big community prayer, we wear our best clothes and eat lovely food and plenty of treats. It is a day where families and friends get together and have fun! Muslims have 2 Eids a year 1 after Ramadan and 1 after Hajj. Everyone is always really excited these days, especially the children who get gifts and money.
