It’s Mental Health Awareness Week where it’s an opportunity to take action to support ours and other people’s mental health. It’s about coming together and highlighting the importance of mental health. However, lets take this opportunity to look down memory lane as looking after our mental health should be highlighted all year round. Take a look with us at what the young people’s team have done since the last years mental health awareness week!
Barry Hangout Expansion
The Hangout has undergone an expansion funded by the Central Vale Primary Care Cluster group. The new space includes new therapeutic rooms for 1-1 support, a quiet and calming waiting area designed with neurodiversity in mind, and a flexible group space for wellbeing activities.

Mental Health Youth Consultant
At the end of March 2026, our Mental Health Youth Consultants had their first in person meeting! Over the last few months, young people from across Wales have been working together, conducting research on the topic of mental health!

Wonderfest
Last year was another year at hosting the Cardiff and Swansea Wonderfest events. Both events had lots of activities where people could get involved with. In Cardiff, Mark Drakeford visited the event and was able to have a look around at what Platfform does!

Tafwyl
Platfform attended Tafwyl, a Welsh speaking youth festival! Our stall provided a wellbeing space where young people were able to get creative and have an opportunity to win some gifts. Take a look at what we did!

Digital Safety Den
The Digital safety den was an event where schools across Wales were invited to Cardiff to pitch there ideas around how they can educate young people on online safety. At the end one school, the panel chose a winner and we were able to support them in making their idea come true.

Celebration Event
The NSPCC Online Safety Project celebrated at the Senedd! The project was a youth-led initiative empowering young people across Wales to influence how we all approach online safety. We got the opportunity to celebrate all we have achieved within the project over the past 12 months.

Pride Cardiff
The young persons team started their pride weekend by walking the parade. Throughout the whole weekend, we also ran a wellbeing tent where if young people needed a quiet place or simply want to enjoy a tea and a biscuit.

Summer Activities
Last summer, one of our projects put on various different summer activities for young people within Swansea to join and get involved with. Young people got the opportunity to graffiti, do archery, paddle boarding, bath bomb making, bee drinking stations and jewellery Making.

Power Up Gets Creative
Every Wednesday, the power up project gets creative at lark. young people have been able to get involved with clay making, painting, resin crafts and so much more. Knowledgeable instructors are able to give support and walk young people through how to get creative.
